The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Shop Parts Clerk to support our operations in the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory, receiving and organizing materials, and ensuring that parts, tools, and equipment are readily available to support our construction and maintenance teams. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, hands-on, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where accuracy and efficiency are critical to operational success.
Your Day-to-Day
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of materials, equipment, and supplies. Including tool crib inventory level checks, daily
- Perform physical inventory and cycle counts
- Complete counts on all consumable inventory items for accuracy as per cycle count process
- Track issues and maintain non-inventory repaired items
- Receive inbound material, verifying part accuracy, quantity, and quality
- Store material in an optimal location considering size and safety
- Inform the Purchasing Team of any inventory discrepancies and damaged/defective material that would impact production
- Communicate with the Purchasing Team to organize procurement of required materials and equipment as stock begins to get low
- Monitor high usage items and help to reduce costs
- Distribute materials and equipment to various sites and departments as needed
- Follows 5S- Straighten, Sort, Set in Order, Standardize, and Shine
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves and work areas clean
- Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and extended periods of sitting throughout the workday
- Work evenings, weekends, and extended hours on occasion to meet operational and project demands
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
- Valid G Class driver’s license
- Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check (CPIC)
- Prior experience in Receiving and inventory management
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered an Asset:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of heavy equipment and heavy truck
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient communications skills both verbal and written in order to carry out responsibility of the job including but not limited to handling invoices, processing orders and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Strong attention to detail to ensure work quality and compliance are being appropriately monitored through inspections and observations
- Ability to perform physically intensive and strenuous tasks when required
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic

The pay range posted reflects base compensation only. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
