Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Boom Truck Operator in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This is a full-time seasonal position available with a pension and benefits package through Operating Engineers 793 and is suitable for someone looking to explore a rewarding career in the construction industry.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate boom truck crane to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
- Perform various rigging procedures
- Perform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting (tarping, strapping, load calculations, etc.)
- Ensure safe and timely deliveries and pick-ups of materials
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Follow all Highway Traffic Act Regulations
- Document Hours of Service through means of ELD
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
The Boom Truck operator will be offered other duties such as driving or equipment operating to ensure full days and full weeks.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Certified 339C Hoisting Engineer
- DZ Licence is required
- Clean Drivers Abstract
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to work out of town when required
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
