With 330 lakes juxtaposed by a vibrant downtown core, Sudbury boasts an unparalleled combination of urban conveniences and natural splendour.  Situated within traditional Ojibwe lands, Sudbury has the third largest Francophone population in Canada (outside of Quebec), and is home to people of many different ethnic backgrounds as one of the most diverse, multilingual and multicultural communities in Canada.

Sudbury offers an affordable lifestyle with lower housing costs compared to other urban centres, and some of the lowest property taxes in Ontario. By car, we are just four hours from Toronto or quick a 50-minute flight. You can also take a beautiful, picturesque drive here from Ottawa in just over five hours.

Sudbury is the regional centre for learning and applied research in Northeastern Ontario, and includes a medical school, a school of architecture, two world-class colleges and a nationally renowned university. With a population of 165,000, Sudbury is the largest city in—and is the regional capital of—Northern Ontario.
