Pioneer Construction Inc. is looking for a team of dedicated, loyal, and hard-working individuals to fill the available roles of Civil/Construction Technician in the Sault Ste. Marie area. This is a full-time seasonal position available with competitive wages and benefit packages.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and review project drawings and plans to determine the sizes of structures
- Confer with engineers about preparing plans
- Use computer-aided design software under the charge of engineers
- Test construction materials and soil samples in laboratories
- Help to ensure that project construction conforms to design specifications and applicable codes
- Develop plans and estimate costs for constructing systems and operating facilities
- Prepare reports and document project activities and data
- Set up and help maintain project files and records
- Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be willing to travel for work when required
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A Civil Engineering Technician/Technology diploma is an asset
- Experience with sampling, reporting, or working in the construction field is considered an asset
- Technical knowledge of asphalt and aggregate is considered an asset
- A valid G license is required
- Experience in the Construction Industry is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Responsible for Quality Control on MTO, Regional and Municipal Projects
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willing to travel to job sites with overnight stays when required
