GRADER FOREMAN

Pioneer Construction Inc. is looking for candidates interested in joining a dynamic team as a Grading Foreman in the Kenora area. Our ideal candidate will have a strong ability to coordinate all activities on our projects.  The Grading Foreman at Pioneer is a Field position which requires directing and monitoring of grading crews on specific projects.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the project owner’s representatives, Pioneer Superintendent as well as your crews. You’ll get exposure to many parts of the construction industry which will set the stage for a terrific career at Pioneer.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide supervision and direction to crew in order to meet quality and production standards.
  • Coordinate equipment, labour and trucking with the Superintendent.
  • Review contract drawings and plans to ensure specifications are followed.
  • Review and adhere to project schedules.
  • Complete daily supervisor diary and timesheet
  • Display professionalism toward our company and customers
  • Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Valid Class G License is required
  • Highschool Diploma is an asset
  • Experience operating Graders is an asset
  • Experience in pits and quarries is considered an asset
  • Experience in a supervisory role is an asset

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work any shift including, days, nights, and weekends
  • Ability to travel to job sites with overnight stays when required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints and scopes of work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
