Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Heavy Duty Equipment Technician at a mine site in Wawa, Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position available with a competitive wage and group benefits package.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
- Perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance
- Prepare daily service reports
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, and Human Resources policies
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Valid G license required
- D-Z license an asset
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician License or equivalent
- Bring your own tools
- 3-5 years of experience working on heavy machinery
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to diagnose and rectify faults and utilize diagnostic software experience.
- Experience in repairing hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Knowledge and ability to repair trucks, trailers and/or power equipment.
- Ability to work as efficiently as possible with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
