Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Sudbury)

LOCATION:  Sudbury, Ontario
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  Full Time

Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Heavy Duty Equipment Technician in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position available with a competitive wage and group benefits package.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance
  • Prepare daily service reports
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, and Human Resources policies
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Valid G license required
  • D-Z license an asset
  • Heavy Duty Equipment Technician License or equivalent
  • Bring your own tools
  • 3-5 years experience working on heavy machinery

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults and utilize diagnostic software experience.
  • Experience in repairing hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to repair trucks, trailers and/or power equipment.
  • Ability to work as efficiently as possible with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
