Loader Operator (Sudbury)

LOCATION:  Sudbury,
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  Full Time

Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Loader Operator. This position is in Sudbury, Ontario, and will be operating in pits and quarries feeding a crusher. This is a full-time permanent position available with an extensive benefits package, a company pension plan, and competitive wages.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a front-end loader.
  • Perform mandatory pre and post vehicle inspections.
  • Perform daily pre-ops and attend daily safety meetings.
  • Identify, report and correct hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment.
  • Perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab).
  • Physical work includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Travel to job sites with overnight stays on occasion.
  • Scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, and ever-changing conditions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic hour of service logs and vehicle inspections.
  • Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers.
  • Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Job Qualifications:

Education:

  • Valid G class drivers license is required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating a front-end loader.
  • Experience in pits and quarries is considered an asset.
  • Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
