Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee who is detail oriented and reliable to fill the position of Payroll Clerk in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This is a Full-time position and comes with competitive wages and a benefits package.
JOB DUTIES:
- Process, verify and review bi-weekly payroll for all hourly union and non-union employees.
- Ensure accurate recording of time and payroll data, including hours, worked, overtime, stat time.
- Generate time and payroll reports for management review.
- Receive and process new employee information and data changes, maintain employee files.
- Act as the main point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding payroll-related concerns.
- Front desk duties serving as first point of contact for customers via phone, email, and in-person.
- Administrative functions such as opening and sorting mail, maintaining files, ordering supplies, errands.
- Recording bank deposits into the accounting system and taking funds to the bank.
- Data enter approved purchase orders.
- Compile data, statistics, and other information
- Comply with all internal financial policies, procedures, and controls as well as regulatory requirements.
- Team player and display professionalism toward our companies, employees and customers.
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations.
- Performs other administrative support and general office duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Post secondary diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Prior experience in payroll processing and/or office administration is considered an asset.
- Valid G class driver’s license and mode of transportation are required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with various computer programs, including Microsoft Office & accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent Problem solving and time management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to work alone or with others within the company.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality measures.
- Occasional lifting and carrying files, documents or small office items weighing up to 10 pounds.
