The Opportunity
Pioneer Construction Inc. is seeking hardworking and dependable individuals to join our team in the role of Crusher Plant Operator, based in the Dubreuilville, Ontario area. This is a hand-on role suitable for a safety-conscious, reliable individual who takes pride in their equipment and their work.
Your Day-to-Day
- Safely operate and maintain crushing and screening plants, stackers, loaders, and other production equipment
- Perform daily pre-operational and post-operational inspections and attend safety meetings
- Manage and report inventory and production
- Clean and lubricate and refuel equipment as required
- Monitor equipment fitness, and ever-changing conditions
- Perform minor repairs to equipment when required
- Maintain accurate electronic hours of service logs and vehicle inspection logs
- Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and extended periods of standing throughout the workday
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Shift work with both day and night shifts as required
- Travel to job sites across Northern Ontario, including occasional out-of-town assignments with overnight stays
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment including Jaw and Cone crushers as well as Conveyor systems
- Valid G class Driver’s License
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered an Asset:
- Prior experience in the construction and/or mining industry
- Surface Miner Common Core
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:
- Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors)
- Familiar with aspects of maintenance of crushing equipment
- Knowledge of loading requirements, techniques, and practices
- Ability to perform physically intensive and strenuous tasks
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic

This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
